Dr. Youmans is a Knoxville native and graduate of University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2009. She also earned a master’s degree in Veterinary Public Health from the University of Tennessee, giving her special insight the veterinary public health field. Dr. Youmans enjoys practicing internal medicine, managing chronic disease, and teaching 4th year veterinary students. She also currently serves as the President of the Knoxville Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA). In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, traveling, horseback riding, and spending time with friends and family. A 2002 graduate of UT’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Skinner is a decorated military veteran, a retired Navy Lt. Commander who graduated #1 in his class at Naval Retail School. He formerly worked at Central Veterinary Hospital and Beaverbrook Animal Hospital. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Lisa, and their two dogs Loki and Merlin. Jeff came to us from the human health field in 2011, and is now using his previous clinical and laboratory experience with his 4-legged patients. Jeff also doubles as our in-house computer tech support expert, and spearheads all of our computer system upgrades and maintenance. In his off time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and his Pug, Nacho.
Jessica has been a part of the KAC team since 2010 as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband and thirteen pets at home! She has two retired greyhounds, Solo(BGR Big Apple) and Vader(BGR Night Owl), two Pomeranians, Bella and Onyx, two cats, Anakin and Darth Maul, along with her six birds, Chrissy, Prince, Jellybean, Chloe, Luna, and Fiona, and last but not least, her pet snake, Miranda, a red tail boa constrictor.
Sara recently retired from the Knoxville Animal Clinic team in July 2020 after 16 years of loyal service at the front desk. Sara enjoyed interacting and getting to know our clients over the years and she will miss seeing our clients and staff. Sara is originally from New York and has lived in Tennessee since 2004. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her two children and six grandchildren in Arizona. She will be enjoying spending more time in her garden, reading, relaxing, spending time with her family, and her dachshund mix, Otto, during her retirement.
Proudly been in the veterinary field for 15 yrs with a mixture of small and large animal. In my spare time i enjoy riding horses, camping, and spending time with my 2 horses, 5 dogs(2 Cane Corsos, 2 Bostons and a pitty), cat, husband and 2 kids
Heather is originally from Monroe, WA, and now lives in Knoxville. She studied Horse Ranch Management in California at Mount San Antonio College, earning her AS. Now she is enrolled at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as a senior majoring in Animal Science for her BS. To further her education, she plans to apply to the UTK College of Veterinary Medicine starting in 2023. She has been in the veterinary field since 2018, and enjoys hiking, photography, and trail riding. Heather has two dogs, both Miniature American Shepherds, Cobain and Luke. She also has a quarter horse named Durango.
Matthew resides in Westwood, Massachusetts and currently attends the University of Tennessee as a junior studying Animal Science with a Bioscience concentration. Prior to joining KAC, he gained clinical experience working as a veterinary assistant for Vetco Clinics during the summer of 2021. In the future, Matthew plans on attending either graduate school to further his knowledge of animal science or attending veterinary school. Back in Massachusetts, he owns two dogs named Callie and Ruckus.
Julianna is originally from Oneida,TN. She has a B.S. in general psychology and another B.S. in sociology. She has been a veterinary assistant for 2 and a half years. Julianna has plans to enroll into vet school. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her two dogs Kenai and Koda. She also enjoys spending time with her bearded dragon, Zera.
Maddy is originally from Fenton, Michigan and now lives in Tennessee. She transferred to the University of Tennessee studying pre-veterinary medicine from the University of Michigan. She plans to attend vet school. While in Michigan, she worked at an animal hospital and volunteered at an animal rescue. In her free time she enjoys playing lacrosse, reading, spending time with family, and her two dogs Macy and Diesel.
Lauren is originally from Mullica Hill, New Jersey and moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to attend the University of Tennessee. She is now a senior majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Lauren plans to attend Veterinary school after graduation and to one day become a large animal veterinarian specializing in equine. In her spare time, Lauren loves to ride her horse Finnegan, hangout with friends, and attend as many football games as possible! Go Vols!
Raised in Knoxville for most of his life, Caleb graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Genetics. Caleb is now taking pre-requisite classes for vet school and plans to apply starting in 2023. In his free time, Caleb enjoys lifting, hunting, reading, and spending time walking or playing with his dog, Dooley.
Maddie is originally from Colorado, and moved to Knoxville in 2018. She has worked in both human medicine and vet medicine since moving to TN. In her spare time she likes to hike, hangout with friends, and spend time with her cat, Callie.
Laura has been in the veterinary field since 2019 after receiving her Bachelor’s in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Having been a pet trainer while in school and minoring in Wildlife & Fisheries, she has an interest in animal behavior and wildlife rehabilitation. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her fiancé, Aaron, and rescue pup, Lola.
